I bought Skyrim off of Steam and use mods by subscribing to them using the Skyrim Nexus Mod Manager. However, neither the mod manager nor any of the Nexus mods or files I've downloaded are working. I signed up, installed the mod manager, and made an attempt to download a mod.

If you can mod it, we'll host it. i have re-downloaded these files 4 times today, before when i clicked on either fix download id's or missing downloads and categories it filled in the mod version, download id and corrected the name back to nexus page, but when it loses the id, it resets to a ? for mod version a blue book for id and whatever for the name (it doesn't always match the nexus page, may have core file name instead Every time i try to download a mod from nexus, it wont let me use the mod manager, it does nothing for whatever reason. and then when i manually download the mod files straight to my computer and drag them into vortex and click install. vortex crashes and the mod will stall indefinitely on "preparing". I dont know what to do, please help. When trying to download mods off the website with NMM a window or tab opens saying my files will begin downloading automatically, only they never do, and there is no link to force it manually (very bad idea to remove that) Steps to reproduce:
